Wonderfully evocative and nicknamed the Isle of Spice, the island’s tranquil natural assets of lush tropical vegetation, gushing rivers, scenic mountains and coastline are powerful.  Although long past, Grenada is still best known for the political unrest that occurred here in 1983.  The country still has an out-of-the-way disposition which makes it a great choice for vacationers who don’t care to follow in the footsteps of a million others.  There is one excellent beach, Grand Anse, in addition to a smattering of smaller coves.  Americans are increasingly discovering this special island.
